Grover Beach man arrested for elder abuse and assault

A Grover Beach man is facing charges, after police say he assaulted his elderly neighbor.

Officer were called to a home on Beckett Street. When they arrived witnesses said 54-year-old Jerry Odom had been in a dispute with his 69-year-old neighbor, and that neighbor’s son.

During the fight, Odom is accused of pushing the elderly man down. The man went into cardiac arrest. He was rushed to the hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Odom was arrested for assault, battery and elder abuse. The names of the victims are not yet being released.
