Lesley Wiscomb to announce candidacy for Santa Barbara City Council

Lesley Wiscomb will announce her candidacy for the Santa Barbara City Council race at a press conference at Alice Keck Park Memorial Gardens on Monday, April 22, at 4:30 p.m.

Wiscomb is a registered Independent who currently serves as the chair of the Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Commission and on the board of directors of the PARC Foundation and of Santa Barbara Beautiful.

Wiscomb wrote in a press release to the media that she developed her teamwork and management skills through her education and two successful professional careers. The first was in the finance industry in New York City. She then earned a graduate degree in landscape architecture and founded her own firm in Seattle.

There will be three open council seats in the Nov. 5, 2013, election.
