Fatal accidents in Santa Ynez Valley and Templeton

A troubling day on the road. Two separate crashes in the Santa Ynez Valley Friday happened just hours apart leaving one man dead and others injured.

The first accident took place off highway 154, when an SUV traveling westbound was making a left at Alamo Pintado Avenue just after 1:30 in the afternoon. As the Chevy Yukon was turning at the intersection, it ran into a motorcycle traveling East.

The man on the motorcycle, whose identity has not been released, was ejected and died on scene. The driver of the suv was left unharmed. CHP, Santa Barbara County Fire, the Forest Service, and AMR responded. Alamo Pintado was shut down for a short time, and an investigation is underway.

The second accident happened just hours later, within a few miles off Highway 154 and Roblar in Los Olivos. This incident appeared to be a head-on collision with a red minivan rolled over on it’s roof. Those involved suffered minor injuries.

Also, CHP confirmed a single car crash in Templeton killed a Santa Barbara woman and hurt two others Thursday night on highway 101, north of highway 58. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
