DA dismisses DUI trial of Tony Denunzio
The man who claimed Santa Barbara Police beat him up during a DUI arrest about a year and half ago is now a free man, cleared of all charges. The DA’s office determined there is not enough evidence to move forward with its re-trial of Tony Denunzio. His first DUI trial ended in a hung jury.
The judge ruled that Denunzio’s blood alcohol level of .09, drawn about 50 minutes following the 2011 arrest in Santa Barbara did not determine whether Denunzio was driving under the influence.
NewsChannel 3 Reporter Shirin Rajaee sat down with Denunzio and has our report.
