Autopsy reveals injuries consistent with a fall
Santa Barbara County sheriff investigators now think the woman whose body was found in the ocean last Saturday fell from the cliffs in Isla Vista.
Giselle Ayala was a freshman at Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo. She was visiting with friends for the so-called Deltopia event.
The coroner’s office says her injuries are “consistent” with someone who fell a long way.
On Monday at her high school in Santa Rosa, almost 300 people gathered for a candlelight vigil to honor her memory.
They described her as someone who always made others feel welcome and cared for.
