Ventura police department encourages registering bicycles

The Ventura police department is encouraging everyone to get their bikes registered.

Police say registering your bike is they way to go because if your bike is stolen, you stand a much better chance of getting it back.

They recommend using a quality locking system whenever you leave or park your bike.

You should also submit a form when there is a transfer of ownership of the bicycle.

To register, call the Resource Center at 805-339-2901.

You can also download the form online at www.venturapd.org
