Olympic Gold Medalist Ashton Eaton helps run youth clinic at Westmont College

The world’s top athlete took a break from training to help conduct a free track and field youth clinic at Westmont College. 2012 Olympic decathlon gold medalist Ashton Eaton along with other elite athletes instructed close to 45 kids from the community in running, jumping and throwing drills.

Eaton is currently training in Santa Barbara and the world record holder in the decathlon will compete in the Sam Adams Combined Events which takes place April 5 & 6 at Westmont.

The free clinic was organized by Josh Priester, director of the Women’s Athletic Performance Foundation. Some of the WAPF athletes that participated were former UCSB star Barbara Nwaba, Aisha Adams and Lindsay Schwartz.
