Scooter chase ends with driver in handcuffs

The driver of a small scooter tried to evade Santa Barbara police for several blocks this afternoon but he eventually ended up in handcuffs.

The name of the driver has not been released.

Police say he went through a red light and then failed to stop when a patrol unit attempted to make a stop.

Eventually they found the driver, walking on Arrellaga Street and made the arrest.

The scooter was hidden behind a car in a parking stall nearby.
