Goleta sees many new projects in the future

Goleta is adding homes, hotels, and new business projects at a time when other cities are struggling due to the down economy.

The Chamber of Commerce led a 90 minute tour this afternoon to show business leaders where changes are taking place.

A site on Hollister Avenue near Los Carneros is of particular interest. That’s where a Target store may be built. It’s currently being analyzed by city and Target officials to see if it will work for the popular store. The nearest Target is in Ventura, a 40 minute drive from Goleta.

Those on the tour also saw the latest developments to the San Jose Creek project, Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital, new housing, a hotel, and a proposed park location.

They also talked about upgrades to Old Town located between Highway 217 and Fairview Avenue.
