Westmont advances to quarterfinals at NAIA Women’s Basketball National Tournament

It never gets old to see Westmont College star Tugce Canitez dominate a women’s basketball game. The two-time GSAC Player of the Year scored a game-high 30 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead the Warriors past Rogers State of Oklahoma 77-70 in a second round game at the NAIA National Tournament.

Canitez had help as Kelsie Sampson added 19 points as Westmont raced out to a 10-0 lead and never trailed.

Westmont will play Westminster of Utah in Saturday’s quarterfinals starting at 1 p.m. PDT. Westminster routed the Warriors earlier this year in Montecito 62-29.
