Gauchos turn in great defensive effort to beat CSUN in 2nd round of BWC Tournament

The Gauchos hang their hat on defense and they completely shutdown Cal State Northridge in a second round Big West Conference Tournament game from Irvine. UCSB limited the Matadors to just 24 percent shooting in a 45-31 victory.

Senior Sweets Underwood scored 16 points and 9 rebounds while Nicole Nesbit added 12 points as the Gauchos advance to the semifinals. UCSB will face rival Cal Poly on Friday at 2:30 p.m. from the Honda Center in Anaheim.
