Mayor accused of battery at high school where he works
Oxnard Mayor Tim Flynn has been accused of battery, but not at city hall. Flynn is a teacher at Pacifica High in Oxnard.
The mother of female student accused Flynn of battering her child during a classroom dispute.
To avoid any conflict of interest Oxnard police asked the Sheriff’s Department to investigate. Deputies say battery is a form of physical contact. In this case, it could result in a misdemeanor charge or be dismissed.
Flynn returned to his classroom this week after missing several days last week.
The mayor and school district officials could not be reached for comment.
