Modest win streak over for Gauchos in college baseball

Parker French held UCSB to just one run and five hits in eight innings as Texas defeated the Gauchos 5-1 in a rare match-up between these two schools. The Longhorns broke a scoreless tie with a three-run fourth inning to hand UCSB ace Austin Pettibone his first loss on the year in three decisions. He allowed four runs while working into the seventh inning.

This was the first meeting between UCSB and Texas since 1987. The loss snaps the Gauchos four-game winning streak and left both teams 8-5 on the year. This three-game series continues on Saturday weather permitting.
