Alleged cockfighting ring discovered

An investigation is underway over an alleged cockfighting ring in the Nipomo area.

A search warrant was served Friday at a rural property located on 1400 Orchard Road.

After serving the warrant deputies found two large compounds with cages housing 233 roosters. Deputies impounded the roosters as evidence.

So far no suspects have been arrested.
