Carpinteria youth pastor charged with rape

A Carpinteria Youth pastor is in Santa Barbara County Jail on charges of multiple counts of child molestation, child rape, lewd acts upon a child and furnishing an illegal substance to minors.

Santa Barbara County sheriff’s spokesperson Kelly Hoover said 28-year-old Louis Bristol surrendered to deputies in Carpinteria on Tuesday.

Allegations against Bristol include meeting two teenagers at Carpinteria Community Church then bring them to the Holiday Inn Express where he allegedly sexually molested them.

Hoover also reports that Bristol is an assistant manager at the hotel. Bristol reportedly brought the teenagers there and provided marijuana to the victims.

“We only know of two victims, but we have reason to believe there are more out there. We are asking the public to assist us in helping to identify who those people are, and to come forward,” said Hoover.

NewsChannel 3 contacted the Carpinteria Community Church and were not given a statement about the arrest of Bristol. Efforts to get information from the Holiday Inn Express were also rejected.

Bristol is scheduled for an arraignment in Santa Barbara Superior Court tomorrow morning.
