Sequestration will impact California
The White House put together a list of funds for California that would be cut if Congress fails to pass a budget by Friday.
Primary and secondary education would lose $87.6 million. Funds include money for teachers and aides.
Low-income college students would not receive financial aid.
Up to $1.6 million in grants for anti-crime programs would be lost.
Roughly 64,000 civilian Department of Defense employees would be furloughed.
Environmental programs that ensure our state has clean water and air would lose $12.5 million.
Job search assistance and placement services would lose $3.3 million.
