Man accused of child annoyance at mall

An Oxnard man out on bail in a child sex abuse case is facing new child annoyance charges.

Police say Anthony Parish was sitting in the child’s playground area of Pacific View Mall in Ventura, Saturday afternoon, when he frightened a child.

The 6-year-old girl told detectives Parish tried to grab her and asked her to go with him.

The girl ran to find her father in a nearby store.

While her dad physically restrained the man, the girl’s mother called security.

When police arrested the 32-year-old they found out he was out on $50,000 bail for allegedly luring a 6-year-old Port Hueneme girl into his home.

Parish is being held on $1million bail.

Parents say the incident at the mall serves as a reminder never to leave your child unattended in a public place.
