Police plan checkpoint to reduce DUI accidents

Police like to hold DUI checkpoints during holiday weekends and this President’s Day weekend is no exception.

Ventura police plan to crack down on drunken and unlicensed drivers Saturday night.
The department won’t release locations but they may change during the night.

Police said there are fewer DUI crashes when checkpoints are well publicized.
They said now is the time to designate a driver.
