Richey Leads Bishop Diego Past Rival Carpinteria In Boys Hoops
Carpinteria used an 8-2 run late in the third quarter and probably thought they would trail by just six heading into the fourth quarter. But Caleb Richey took the inbounds pass from under his basket with five seconds left, dribbled to half court and banked in a buzzer-beating three-pointer to push the lead up to 47-38. The home Warriors never recovered as rival Bishop won 63-51. The long distance shot by Richey was just part of his game-high 27 points as the Cardinals improve to 12-8 on the year. Thomas Lash added 16 points for the Cardinals while Marcus Hutchinson scored a team-high 16 points for the Warriors.
