Notre Dame Linebacker’s Girlfriend Hoax

Santa Barbara- A bizarre hoax out of Notre Dame. The School’s star linebacker, Manti Te’o says he was the victim of an embarrassing plot. His dead girlfriend, a women he apparently met online, never existed!The mystery girl Tao met online was, according to him, a 22 year old Standford University Student named Lennay Kakua. Last September Te’o said his girlfriend, the love of his life, died of leukemia, within hours of his grandmother passing. But upon investigation by Sports Website Deadspin.com, we now know that Kekua never existed. There was no birth or death certificate found, and the person whose picture had been presented as that of Kakua was alive, didn’t have Leukima and had never met Te’o. The details are still being sorted out, but many say this could have an impact on Te’o’s draft status. KEY News Reporter Shirin Rajaee reports.
