Man Fights Off Two Carjackers In Santa Maria

Police are searching for a man and a woman who tried to carjack a 22-year-old man in Santa Maria.Police say the suspects asked the man for a ride near Jones and College on Saturday night. He agreed and drove them to Railroad Avenue and Atlantic Place where they asked him to pull over.The male suspect put the victim in a headlock and put a knife to his throat. Police say the victim grabbed the knife, and continued driving. Then, the man told the victim to pull over and get out of the vehicle, but he refused. Police say the woman grabbed the keys out of the ignition and both suspects ran away.The victim suffered a minor cut on his hand from wrestling away the knife.
