Gregory Not 100 Percent That She Is Retiring

Kathy Gregory may be having second thoughts about leaving as head coach of the UCSB women’s volleyball team. She told KEYT Sports in an email today, “Not 100 percent that I am retiring,” This comes after Gregory confirmed in a text message last night to Presidiosports.com that she was resigning. It’s easy to see why it’s a tough decision as Gregory has been the head coach of the Gauchos since the program’s inception in 1975. In her 38 years as the bench boss, Gregory has led UCSB to 27 NCAA Tournament appearances and compiled a career record of 866-395. She is a member of the USVBA Hall of Fame and was a five-time Women’s Beach Player of the Year during the mid-1970’s and early 1980’s. Key Sports will continue to follow this developing story.
