Gregory Gives Passionate Retirement Speech As She Exits UCSB Volleyball

It sounded more like a pregame speech rather than a retirement press conference. Kathy Gregory was energetic, fiery and passionate as she steps down after 38 years as the head coach of the UC Santa Barbara women’s volleyball team. Gregory led the Gauchos to 27 NCAA Tournament appearances and her 882 career wins rank 5th most in NCAA Division 1 history. Gregory will be part of a three-person committee to hire the next Gauchos women’s volleyball coach. She will also assist in the possibility for UCSB to add sand volleyball as an intercollegiate sport.
