Dons Honor Holly Ford Emerson & Beat DP In Girls Hoops

Holly Ford Emerson is the first female athlete to have her jersey hanging on the wall at Santa Barbara High School. The Dons retired her #23 during halftime of the girls game against Dos Pueblos. Holly was a 2-time CIF Player of the Year during the early 1980’s and still holds the single-game scoring record with 45 points. She became an All-American at USC. Her #23 jersey is on the wall right next to her brother Don Ford’s #34.As for the game, the Dons Ivette Gil scored a game-high 20 points as Santa Barbara defeated the Chargers 50-36 to improve to 3-1 in the Channel League and 16-5 overall.
