Crews Save Student Housing Complex From Fire

Firefighters responded to Stenner Glen Apartments in San Luis Obispo Sunday afternoon after a report of smoke inside the building.The San Luis Obispo City Fire Department was called out after 12 pm to the student housing complex on Foothill Boulevard.Crews saw thick, black smoke coming from a bedroom window on the second floor of Tower 7. Crews found a mattress burning inside a bedroom. After an aggressive attack, they were able to keep the flames from spreading outside the bedroom. The room was vacant at the time of the fire. No one was hurt. Fire officials say the blaze is still under investigation, but appears to be suspicious.
