SANTA BARBARA – Some state lawmakers are working on legislation to create stricter gun laws after the recent school shooting in Connecticut.Gun store owners say the news is creating a big spike in business.One bill in Sacramento calls for guns sold in California to not have a button that makes refilling ammunition quick.Many gun owners want to make sure they get their hands on guns that could become illegal in the state.One gun owner outside a Santa Barbara gun store tells KEY News “if they are going to be changing the laws I am going to get in there and buy what I can when I can.”Democrats in Washington are promising to create stricter federal gun laws. Many republicans are opposed.
