Work Permit Immigration Proposal

Immigration reform legislation is facing more hurdles in Sacramento.An assembly bill that would give work permits to long time working residents is no longer bipartisan.The Republican assembly member who co-authored AB1544 has taken her name off the bill.The other co-author, Coachella and Imperial Valley Assembly Member Manuel Perez, says the bill passed through one committee.Supporters of reform say it may be stalled by election year politics.
