Under the Helmet: Concussions

High school football produces some violent collisions. Last year 13 players nationally suffered fatal brain injuries. Earlier this week Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital hosted a presentation on head injuries with Jack Youngblood as the key note speaker.Youngblood played 14 seasons in the NFL during the 1970’s and 80’s and was inducted into pro football’s Hall of Fame. He is lending his support in part because he is having issues of having multiple concussions.Youngblood says progress is being made from the NFL down to the high school level.
