UCSB Softball Sweeps Double Header Against Cal Poly

The University of Santa Barbara softball team welcomed Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for a Saturday double header.The Gaucho women won the opening game 4-1.In game 2 the offense got going in the 2nd inning when Lainey Depompa drilled a single up the middle. Her teammates would bunt her to 3rd and Jenessa Jeppesen would bring her home with a base hit.In the 3rd, Cal Poly would get on the board with a Whitley Gerhart homer.But in the bottom of the 3rd, UC Santa Barbara would answer right back with a rare squeeze play. With a Jessica Soria on 3rd, Allison Taylor drop a perfect squeeze bunt to bring in the run.The Gauchos go on to win 5-4 over the Mustangs sweeping the double header.UCSB is on a 3 game win streak and moves to 26-28 on the year with 4 games left.
