U.C.S.B. Professor Says Libyan Attack Planned Out
A U.C.S.B. Professor says the rebels who launched an assault on the U.S. Embassy, killing four, are likely out to attack their own government and American diplomats.Professor Mark Juergensmeyer also says he was surprised the attackers got so close to the embassy because of its well guarded location.”The attack was not a bunch of people out on the street. These were rocket attacks that had to be planned long in advance,” said Juergensmeyer. He says the new Libyan government, backed by the U.S.is “exactly the reason why right winged extremists in Libya want to target America to undercut the kind of democratic process going on in that country.”KEY News Senior Reporter John Palminteri has our story.
