Two Men Under Arrest For Sexual Assault During Fiesta Weekend

Following a month-and-a-half long investigation, Santa Barbara Police arrested two men from Lompoc for the alleged sexual assault of a 41-year-old woman. On August 4, police say the victim was dropped off at the Artisan Court Apartments at 420 East Cota Street. The victim, who was intoxicated at the time, was approached by four men in the parking lot of the complex while she was waiting for a friend. Two of the men remained by a parked car while the other two sexually assaulted her.During the course of their investigation, police recovered several items of physical evidence and identified locations in the area with security cameras. Ultimately, surveillance videos from three locations were recovered that depicted the suspects and aspects of the incident.Police were eventually able to identify the suspects. On September 20, Jose Luis Castillo, age 24, and Daniel Ordonez Jr., age 20, were taken into custody.The victim in this case is being assisted by advocates from the Santa Barbara Rape Crisis Center.
