Tri-County Red Cross Volunteers Help Those Affected By Isaac

Five Tri-County women are on their way to help those being displaced by Hurricane Isaac. The Red Cross is sending Eleanor Guzik and Kelly Whitaker of Ventura, Leah Heher of Santa Barbara, and Aime Menkins and Loren Leidinger-Avila of San Luis Obispo. The ladies could be gone for up to two weeks to help prepare for the storm and assist in the aftermath.The Red Cross is launching a large disaster response in states along the Gulf of Mexico. Isaac is expected to affect millions of people with it’s winds, heavy rains, and flooding.These women will be working to provide a dry place to sleep and stay, a warm meal and hope to those who are affected by the hurricane. The Red Cross is opening evacuation shelters in many states and is also providing relief supplies for those affected.Isaac is expected to cause widespread wind and flooding damage across the region and the Red Cross has a major response underway.
