Tractor Truck Accident Temporarily Shuts Down Northbound 101

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY – Northbound lanes of Highway 101 near Refugio Road are back open after an accident involving a tractor trailer that became separated when it collided with a smaller vehicle.It happened just after 5:30 Monday morning, according to the CHP website.The accident caused the tractor portion of the rig to veer to one side of the freeway, and the trailer section to slam into the other. A KEY News crew on scene said traffic was at a dead stop roughly one mile south of Mariposa Reina, temporarily, until crews cleared the scene.There don’t appear to be any injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
