A Port Hueneme development has become a sign on economic times.When “The Bungalows” between Hueneme Beach and Port Hueneme Road opened, before the recession, there was a waiting list.Billboards attracted Los Angeles buyers looking for bargains compared to Malibu prices to the South.The large single family homes sold in the 750-thousand dollar range.Then Laign Homes went bankrupt.About half the homes still hadn’t been built.Standard Pacific Homes took over in April.Construction crews are now back at work to finish the project.They are building three bedroom homes with lofts and new open floor plans that start at 456-thousand dollars.While some residents didn’t mind the quiet, young families say they are looking forward to more parents with children moving in.Three homes have sold since the May, and more are ready for purchase.Share your comments about this story with us on the KEY News Facebook page.
