Tajiguas Landfill Going Green

Santa Barbara County leaders are looking for community input on a proposed resource recovery project at the Tajiguas landfill. In 2002 the county obtained the necessary approvals and permits to expand the landfill both vertically and laterally. Since then the county has looked into alternatives to landfilling. Some solutions would expand the recycling process and provide an alternative to burying organic waste. While also generating green energy and reduce the amount of waste requiring burial. The county is holding a public meeting on the matter today at 5 p.m. located at the Santa Barbara County planning commission hearing room. The address is 123 East Anapamu Street.
