Stamatia Is Latest Member Of Scarvelis Family To Win State Title

Stamatia Scarvelis has a flair for the dramatic. She won the girls shot put title on her final throw at the CIF State Track and Field Championship over the weekend in Clovis. The Dos Pueblos High School sophomore reached 47.3.25 feet on her final attempt to overtake Tanya Sapa of La Sierra. Last year Stamatia’s brother Nicholas won the state shot put title and is now finishing up his redshirt year at UCLA.
