Sex Offender Halloween Restrictions

A city trying to crack down on sex offenders can not order them to post “no candy signs” outside their homes on Halloween.A judge blocked that part of Simi Valley’s new ordinance. But the city can order sex offenders not to open their doors to those who trick or treat.Convicted sex offenders must also turn off all outside lights. The ordinance followed the conviction of a Halloween flasher who was already on the Megan’s Law website.A hearing on the ordinance is scheduled for late November.Share your comments about this story with us on the KEY News Facebook page.
