Sewage Spill Dumps 600 Gallons into the Ocean

A problem with a sewage lift station at the 100 block of Indio Drive in Pismo Beach caused about 600 gallons of sewage to spill into the ocean. The spill was reported at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday and flowed into a nearby storm drain which empties into the ocean. City crews were notified and stopped the spill. As a precaution, the Public Health Department has posted health warning signs within a quarter mile of the spill.The warning signs will remain in place for at least 24 hours.
