Salute To Our Veterans

Hundreds of people kicked of their Independence Day celebration one day early with a, “Salute to Our Veterans.”That’s the name of an annual event at Cypress Place Senior Living in Ventura.Cypress Place invited residents and guests to enjoy a patriotic program.Boy Scout Logan Sweet led the Pledge of Allegiance..Dawn Reid sang the National Anthem.And Captain D.J. Sasek, the Chief Staff Officer at Naval Base Ventura County gave the Keynote speech.But the residents shared in the program too.They put their war memorabilia on display.Ann Meagher wore a necklace with the Medal of Honor logo that she received at the White House when her husband was honored back in 1945.Gibson “Bud” Phelps wore his aviation sunglasses issued to the troops when he was a young pilot in 1940.Cypress Point on Cypress Point Lane is home to a number of Veterans who enjoyed the patriotic celebration.Cypress Place
