Ruling Expected Today on Controversial Naples Development

SANTA BARBARA – Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge Thomas Anderle is expected to issue a tentative ruling Tuesday morning on the legality of the Naples Development project proposed for the Gaviota Coast. The Naples Coalition, The Environmental Defense Center and the Surfrider Foundation filed suit against Santa Barbara County back in December of 2008.The group contends the county’s approval of the Naples Project puts the entire Gaviota Coast at risk for significant and unavoidable environmental impacts and damage.The Santa Barbara Ranch Project proposed for the Naples property would allow the development of 71 estate-sized homes on both sides of Highway 101 along the Gaviota Coast.
