Panga Boat Found Off San Simeon Coast

A panga boat was found early Thursday morning off the coast of San Simeon near the Piedras Blancas lighthouse.According to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department, 20 suspects are behind bars in connection to the boat. They’re scheduled to be transferred to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles.Investigators confiscated 43 bales of marijuana ranging in size from 70 to 90 pounds each for a total of more than 3,000 pounds. It’s estimated to have a street value of more than 4.5 million dollars. This case has been turned over to the federal government and the Department of Homeland Security.
