Metrolink Makeover

The California Transportation Commission allocated $60 million in Proposition 1 A bond funds.The money will help pay for Metrolink upgrades.About 30 locomotives and and 50 passenger cars will get new equipment or be rehabilitated.Their communications systems will be overhauled.Riders will notice new seats, flooring, luggage racks, bike racks and air conditioning.The trains will link to the High Speed Rail Station someday in Burbank.The improvements will also improve safety and reduce emissions.
