A measure on the ballot in Santa Paula is intended to give the city’s 102 year old library many more chapters.Measure “U” will ask voters to continue a 40 dollar a year parcel tax for another four years.The assessment would help the Blanchard Community Library raise nearly $300 thousand dollars.That’s almost half of the library’s budget.The measure would not increase the fee homeowners are already paying.Library officials say they could be forced to close without the funding.Measure “U” needs a simple majority to pass.Blanchard Community LibraryShare your comments about this story with us on the KEY News Facebook page.
