Magellan’s Travel to Move to Higher Ground

A local travel store is moving its warehouse operations, over to the Rocky Mountains. Magellan’s officials have confirmed the company is closing its downtown Santa Barbara location on Sola Street and plans to reopen in Denver, Colorado. Magellan’s has about 100 workers at this site. It’s well known for accessories including a variety of clothing, bags, and electronics sought after by travelers. Most of the items are sold through a mail order catalog and on line. Magellan’s has been owned by a Denver based company, Gart Capital Partners since 2011. It originally opened in Santa Barbara 23 years ago.
