Lower San Marcos Pass Fire Knocks Out Power
A big column of smoke in the lower San Marcos Pass area brought out several engines from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department this afternoon about 12:40. A fire in dry grass burned about an acre, but it was dangerously close to homes and ranch buildings.The fire was contained quickly with the help of fire crews from the Los Padres National Forest and CalFire.The cause is under investigation but a downed power line was seen in the area.About 500 Edison customers were impacted by an outage when the line came down.
