Joshua Packer Back In Court

Sunday will mark the third anniversary of the Faria Beach Murders.And today the Ventura man accused of killing 42-year-old Brock Husted and his pregnant wife Davina, with a knife, appeared in court to face new sexual assault allegations.DNA evidence led to another indictment accusing Joshua Packer of forced oral copulation during the course of Davina Husted’s murder.Davina Husted was six month pregnant at the time.Today packer walked into court with a shaved head and without glasses.The 22-year-old appeared to *mumble* when he answered the judge’s questions and then he stumbled on his way out of the courtroom.Packer’s arraignment was postponed until next Friday to give his attorney more time to read the sealed Grand Jury Indictment transcript.There could me more delays.Packer’s attorney Benjamin Meserang filed a motion to disqualify Ventura County Superior Court Judge Patricia Murphy from presiding over the case.Meanwhile prosecutors seeking the death penalty are trying to combine the charges.They say an August 6th trial date has been set.
