Grand Jury Report On Colleges

Summer school hasn’t even started and already the Ventura County Community College District is getting a poor grade.The Ventura County Grand Jury just issued a report entitled, ” Educational Inconsistencies within the VCCCD.”Jury Foreman David Gale says they got the idea to look into the district after hearing reports about accreditation problems..The report says the school that serves 35 thousand students needs more counselors and more consistent class descriptions.It also raises concerns about English and math assessment testing.Ventura College officials declined to comment on camera.But the district is dealing with ongoing budget cuts.Students say they were not surprised by the report.They say many students have to visit all three campuses to get the full time course they need to graduate on time.
