Fatal Shooting in Oxnard

OXNARD – A 28-year-old man was shot dead Sunday night in front of a popular food stand in Oxnard.The call went out just after 9:30 pm after the victim was shot in front of Super Taco at 154 E. 5th St.When officers arrived on scene, they found the man face down on the sidewalk with a single, fatal gunshot wound. Police detectives will spend the day interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence from the crime scene. Officials will release the name of the victim, who they’ve identified as a Hispanic, after notifying his next-of-kin.
