E-Waste Recycle Event Takes Place Thursday in Oxnard

OXNARD, Calif.— – Republic Services of Oxnard, one of the nation’s largest recycling companies, will host an E-Waste recycling event on Thursday, Aug. 9, from 5 – 9 a.m. at the Del Norte Recycling and Transfer Station in Oxnard.Citizens will be encouraged to drop off their e-waste, such as monitors, computers, fax machines, printers, televisions and VCRs. Citizens will also have the opportunity to learn about Republic Services of Oxnard’s newly formed Green Team – a volunteer, educational outreach team that teaches the community how to reduce, reuse, recycle and compost. “People have many electronic devices sitting around their home that they no longer use. Rather than toss those items, Republic Services is happy to recycle them,” said Stephen MacIntosh, general manager of Republic Services of Oxnard. “This is a great event that will encourage the public to come to our facility and take that extra step to help keep our local environment clean.”The Del Norte Recycling and Transfer Station is located at 111. S. Del Norte Blvd. in Oxnard. For more information, call 805-278-8200.
