DUI Checkpoints Set Up In Santa Barbara This Weekend

Police officers will be targeting impaired drivers this weekend. The Santa Barbara Police Department will conduct a DUI and drivers license checkpoint this Friday and Saturday night at undisclosed locations in the city. The checkpoints will be in place from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. the following morning. Checkpoints are placed in locations with the greatest opportunity for nabbing drunk and drugged drivers. Drivers caught driving impaired can expect jail time, license suspension, as well as a number of expenses that can exceed $10,000.
